She was just tired… so tired.Īfter a whole five minutes, Saffron took a step forward. She was afraid of being forced to be revived again if she died doing nothing. Should she just give up? The scientist shook her head. Thunder, Kinetic Wave, Step Slash, and Frostbolt. She tapped it twice and a socket opened, revealing a few cards. Saffron stood up and looked at her wristband. While she was used to making and casting spells, she had never used them offensively. Her blaster was something she found at the testing grounds of the old facility she interned at. Her superiors took her innovations and used it to commit murder on a mass scale. She, as a bright-eyed young girl hoping to spread the wonders of magic to the masses, only came up with spells and how to use them in combinations with each other. Despite what Reva thought, Saffron wasn’t the one who built those weapons of war. Saffron was only sixteen when the war broke out, but… A once magnificent city buried under rubble to the point where only dirt and earth remained. Saffron opened her eyes and instantly recognized her surroundings. Was it really worth it? Was it worth it to keep on going? To die over and over for a place that she may never attain? She was emotionally attached to people who would never remember the struggles they had gone through together. Hazel, Gunner, Reva, Terra, Violette, Selicy, Shiso, and even the shopkeepers never remembered her. Whether she made friends or killed those who stood in her way, none of them would remember her. ![]() She hoped that it would all mesh together after a while, but it never did. ![]() Every time she felt death’s arms approach her, she felt an angelic light before appearing in a random location, time being rewound to when she started her journey.ĭespite her seemingly infinite tries to get to Eden, however, it never diminished the pain she felt. She no longer knew how long she had been trying to get to the fabled utopia, but it was the only reason she kept moving. Tears pricked Saffron’s eyes before she even opened them. ![]()
